The four gas pistons or hydraulic struts (two on the single bed) allow simple lifting of the platform top and mattress to access the storage area below, whilst ensuring the mattress is supported safely. To close the ottoman, you simply lower the mattress with the gas pistons allowing the ottoman to close slowly and safely
Torde manufacture to a high quality and the construction of their ottoman reflects this. The attractive veneered chipboard creates a luxurious storage area, benefiting from a solid and sturdy finish. Rounded corner posts provide a softer feel yet with additional strength. The 4 gas pistons enable the ottoman to work efficiently for all mattresses including deep and heavy mattresses. All ottomans (excluding singles) are supplied in two halves to allow you to manoeuvre them up all standard staircases and doorways. The two halves are simply linked together with the enclosed joining bolts and clips
The Torde platform top provides a much more stable and supportive base than ottomans fitted with sprung wooden slats.
